We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance & Risk Officer to join our client’scentral office team based in Manchester City Centre.

The Role As Compliance & Risk Officer you will work with the Society’s CEO, Senior Management Team and Business Functions in leading the development of the Society’s regulatory compliance, risk management, and data protection strategies and plans to ensure the Society continues to meet its applicable statutory and regulatory objectives, taking into account the scale and complexity of the Society’s business operations.
The successful applicant will hold Senior Management Function (SMF) 16 - Compliance Oversight and SMF 17 - Money Laundering Reporting status.
The Person As Compliance & Risk Officer you will have:
Knowledge of investments, life and pensions products and services
Industry related qualifications
Compliance & Risk managerial experience
Experience of the Mutual and/or Friendly Society sector
A well-developed understanding of the Regulatory Principles, Rules and Guidance, and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requirements.
Ability to assess business and operational risks
Ability to develop and implement compliance and risk management strategies and processes that are proportionate, taking into account the Society’s scale, complexity and business model
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent people skills/relationship building
Good critical thinking skills
Ability to manage conflict and handle disagreement
Excellent planning and project management skills
The successful candidate will be subject to regulatory references, including employment references for last 5 years, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and credit checks.
The Benefits For the role of Compliance & Risk Officer you will receive:
Salary of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum plus benefits, dependent upon skills, competency, experience and qualifications
Working hours of Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday 9am to 4pm
