We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Marketing Communications Officer to join one of the largest and oldest friendly societies in the UK for a 12-month, fixed-term contract based in Manchester.

There are 121 Branches nationwide, run mostly by volunteers and supported by a professional team at its central office in Manchester.
The Role As Senior Marketing Communications Officer you will provide direction and the subsequent delivery of specific marketing projects, to include the promotion of our travel and offers benefits, and volunteering opportunities with the Society. You will also provide digital marketing support to the team.
About You You should be a confident communicator and practitioner, competent at managing various projects simultaneously, and happy to work with minimal supervision.
Essential requirements:
A degree qualification in one or more of the following subjects: (Marketing, Digital communications, Public Relations) and 3+ years demonstrable experience in marketing communications
Ability to create compelling content both on and offline, interviewing case studies as required
Excellent writing and proof-reading skills
Proven working experience in digital marketing – able to identify target audiences and devise campaigns that inform and engage
Experience leading/managing SEO, eMarketing, social media and display advertising
Familiarity with content management systems (inc Umbraco)
Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement (inc website analytic tools)
Good organisation and planning
Proactive and self-motivated
Ability to work individually and handle self-driven projects efficiently and within budget
Ability to multi-task and operate within a demanding work environment
Desirable:
Experience of working with a membership, charitable or not-for-profit organisation
A good understanding/appreciation of working with older volunteers
Experience in the promotion of financially regulated products.
The Benefits For the role of Senior Marketing Communications Officer you will receive:
A salary of £30,000
Working hours Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4pm. There may be odd occasions where the post holder has to work in the evening or at weekends.
