We have an excellent opportunity for a Part-time Activities Assistant to join our clients residential and respite care team for 18 hours per week in Romsey, Hampshire which has been awarded a CQC Good rating. This role is offering some flexibility in the days and times worked but the home activities programme typically runs between 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday.
Please note that they also have bank, kitchen assistant and other part time positions available.

They are a bright, modern purpose-built 51 bedded Residential Care home in the heart of Romsey with excellent commuter access links to Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury and beyond and they offer in-house training for all staff and can offer support for individuals working towards Care related qualifications.
About the role As a Part-time Activities Assistant, you will ensure that the home has a full activity programme which caters to all residents needs as well as maintaining clear records of residents involvement in activities. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and participating in activities appropriate to Residents’ needs and requests, assist in organising fundraising events and will be required to manage a team of staff and volunteers to implement the activities.
As a Part-time Activities Assistnent your duties will include:
Assisting residents to socialise within the home, and providing a variety of activities and events that cater for all tastes and abilities
Befriending residents, liaising with staff, relatives and friends of our residents to ensure full knowledge of the residents' their activity preferences, hobbies, interests, abilities and difficulties
Assisting the Activities Co-ordinator with a monthly rolling programme of events, activities and individual programmes to encourage residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies and to discover new ones
Encourage participation in all the activities available in the home including friends and relatives and staff members
Maintain full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documentation
About you To be successful for the role of Part-time Activities Assistant, Qualifications in Health and Social Care and/or previous experience of working with residential groups or in the care sector would be highly desirable, but are not essential and you will be / have:
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Team player with a passion for music and organising events
Ability to work on own initiative
Friendly, creative and confident
Genuine interest in working with the relevant resident group
Enthusiastic and self-motivated
