Our client is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their machine tool automation company based in Milton Keynes. As a Field Service Engineer you will be mainly field based, mostly working in the UK and also covering Ireland.  Some overnights are likely, so please only apply if you are willing and able to travel.

About the role
As Field Service Engineer you will be dealing directly with customers and colleagues, so you will need to demonstrate confidence and excellent communication skills. A thorough training programme will be given on the installation and servicing of all company products prior to going out into the field. 

The successful Field Service Engineer will be responsible for:

• Installation, fault finding and repairing the full range of company products
• Training customers to use company products
• Providing quality customer support
• Assisting customers and other Service Team members with technical issues, either on the phone or face to face
• Completing accurate records of visits using service sheets, time & vehicle logs

About you
The successful Field Service Engineer should have / be:

• An interest in mechanical and electrical engineering
• Conversant with measuring equipment
• Able to manage the physically demanding nature of the work
• Strong communication and excellent customer service skills
• A flexible approach to working hours when required and be prepared for overnight stays
• Have a systematic / logical approach to tasks and problems
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work under your own initiative and with limited supervision
• Responsible for working in a clean and tidy manner adhering to Health & Safety requirements
• Good time keeping
• IT literate
• Clean UK licence and over 25 (for van insurance)

About the hours & rewards
For the position of Field Service Engineer, you will work 41.5 hours per week and overtime is often available. The successful candidate will receive:

• £12.50 per hour starting salary 
• 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
• Christmas shutdown
• Auto-enrolment Pension scheme
