We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Registered General Nurse / Unit Manager to join our clients well renowned and modern purpose-built 46 bedded Residential Nursing home in the heart of Romsey, Hampshire.
About the RoleAs a Senior Registered General Nurse / Unit Manager you will have responsibility for looking after residents as part of a small nursing and care team, with the authority and accountability to make care decisions. You will be responsible for providing and coordinating the day-to-day care of residents within one of their 3 small nurse led units.
You will be highly skilled and passionate about providing care to residents in line with individual care plans, demonstrating best clinical practice whilst offering leadership and guidance to members of your care team, managing residents’ routine medications and respond to any emergencies appropriately as they arise.
About the PersonAs a Senior Registered General Nurse / Unit Manager you must have the right to work in the UK and be a current NMC PIN holder. You will ideally have previous experience of older adult care and an interest in Dementia and or mental health in older adults aged 65+ and you must have / be:
- A qualified and experienced nurse (RGN) who has a proven track record along with evidence of PREP (Post-registration Education & Practice)
- QCF/NVQ Level 2-3 Health & Social Care
- Previous experience of working in Care for the adults aged 65+
- Knowledgeable of the statutory requirements associated with care of the older adults aged 65+
- Ability to work on own initiative and with a team
- Able to work flexible hours, weekends, on call as necessary; covering any sickness, annual leave etc
- Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used
- Act as a role model for good clinical and care governance practice and demonstrates a caring disposition towards others
- Reliable, punctual and a team player
- Good interpersonal/communication skills
- Satisfactory DBS check
About the Salary & Rewards
As a Senior Registered General Nurse / Unit Manager you will work 42.25 hours per week working Monday to Sunday on a rota (to include 1 weekend in 3) and receive an excellent salary of at least £48,115 per annum (£21.90 per hour) depending on experience plus a substantial benefits package which includes:
