About the role Due to continued growth, our client is looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to join them and you will be:
An adaptable and flexible individual and enjoy working as part of a friendly, productive team
A key part of the Company, ensuring the smooth running of their Engineering department
Leading a multi-disciplined engineering team in the design, specification, procurement and construction of technical systems, cable assemblies, harnesses, box builds and other associated products to AS9100D standards for the Aerospace, Satellite, Telecoms, Broadcast and Transport sectors
About the responsibilities As an Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be:
Technically responsible for the entire product lifecycle, including new product development from inception through to launch and will drive continuous improvement.
Taking client briefs and creating bespoke solutions with a quality-first attitude
Calculating labour costs/ labour allocation/ labour efficiency/ quotations
Drawing up support documentation for quotations such as system schematics, marking up drawings for cable assembly designs
Ensuring the customer receives the quote and any necessary support in a timely manner
Creating detailed work instructions and AutoCAD drawings for the production team
Supporting the sales team by answering technical queries or investigating and solving technical issues
Engineering the build of cable assemblies to AS9100D standards
Building relationships with both customers and suppliers.
Lead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary Engineering team
Develop a cohesive and high-performing engineering culture that embraces engineering best practices
Work with production to ensure all products are commercially viable, efficient to manufacture and meet the quality and business expectations
Attend a weekly operations management meeting where you will report on activities & KPI’s
Supporting procurement and supplier selection from technical aspects
About you To be successful for the role of Electrical Engineering Manager, you will need these essential skills:
Detailed knowledge of design for manufacture
AutoCAD experience
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Experience or working to achieve KPI targets
Project management skills, particularly resource scheduling and proven on time project delivery
Ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders
Ability to manage the engineering team, including building and leading productive, high functioning and distributed teams
Desirable Skills
Experience working within an AS9100 environment
Lean management and 6S experience
About the rewards The position of Electrical Engineering Manager offers a salary of £45,000 to £55,000 per annum and benefits include:
