Due to continuing expansion of our client’s manufacturing activities, they are looking for a Project Assembly Engineer to join this leading provider of electronic design and assembly services in Widnes, Cheshire.

Our client works with their customers at the leading edge of new product development from initial design, prototyping and certification through to volume manufacture, ongoing service, maintenance and repair, in short - the complete product lifecycle.
About the role
As a Project Assembly Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth introduction of customer manufacturing data for prototypes and established products into the manufacturing operations and your duties will include:- Liaising with customers at an engineering level to finalise the Bill of Materials (BOM) and supporting manufacturing data
- Manipulating and Importing ECAD data into BOMs and output parts lists into specific assembly and manufacturing formats
- Defining build structure for multi-board and system-level products
- Overseeing assembly of ‘First off’ products and liaising with customers to resolve specific technical problems
- Producing all build documentation with assistance from design and product engineering teams in line with the company quality systems
- Providing customer post-delivery technical assistance and support
- Resolving internal manufacturing technical queries
About you
To be successful for the role of Project Assembly Engineer, you must be / have:- A degree level (minimum HNC) in electronics or a related engineering discipline
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry
- Strong practical engineering background
- Excellent communication skills
- A keen eye for detail and an aptitude for delivering the ‘right first-time’ results
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
- Good computer skills are essential (Excel & CAD)
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly
About the hours and rewards
For the role of Project Assembly Engineer your normal working hours are 8am – 4pm (Mon to Fri), there is an excellent salary on offer of up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience plus:- 25 days holiday plus an extra days holiday for each complete year’s service up to a maximum of 30 days plus paid bank holidays
- 5% employer pension contribution and 4% employee scheme
- Free parking
- 4 Day Working Week – our client is currently looking to move to a 4 day working week. As such a trial will take place for a 3 month period (Jul – Sep 23) and if successful this working pattern will be adopted, Mon – Thurs 7am to 5pm
