Our client is British manufacturer founded in 1984. They create solutions to meet the challenges of integrating power and AV/data access for people working in offices and commercial spaces. They provide a total product range from underfloor powertrack and power hub power distributions systems, floor boxes, workstation power and AV/data modules to monitor arms, CPU supports and cable management solutions that are designed to be quick and easy to install and adaptable for contractor, client and end-user.
About the role
The role of HSE Manager includes:- The development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies, processes, operational procedures, and standards
- Ensuring best practice and championing a continually improving HSE culture within the business
- Engaging and influencing key stakeholders both within and outside the business this role includes liaising with and reporting to external regulatory bodies
- Ensuring high levels of compliance is maintained to employees, customers, and regulatory organisations. A sound working knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety legislation
About the responsibilities
As HSE Manager, the key tasks include:- Being an exemplar to HSE processes and become a driver for best practice and improvement
- Providing support to all areas of the business to eliminate, mitigate or reduce identified exposures whilst managing change within SHE at all levels of the business
- Liaising with departments to ensure HSE requirements are maintained
- Operational site & premises support, inspections, and auditing
- Internal HSE audits are planned, and the schedule is maintained
- Completion and auditing of risk assessments, as required
- Employee communication, education, and training
- Support and develop policies and procedures to effectively manage HSE risks and opportunities
- Accident and incident investigation, analysis, and reporting
- Coordinating accident and incident management follow-up processes
- Compiling and updating all onsite documentation
- Ensuring statutory and internal reporting is undertaken in a timely and accurate manner
You will also be accountable for:
- Health and Safety
- Environmental
- Relationship management
- Leadership and Supervisory responsibilities
About you
To be successful for the role of HSE Manager, you must have / be:- NEBOSH qualified in Health and Safety
- IEMA qualified in Environment (or similar)
- Lead auditor qualified (preferably across 14001 and 45001 standards)
- Proven track record in similar managerial role
- Management in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of developing, implementing and maintaining an HSE management system
- Up to date knowledge of ISO certification process
- Experience of reporting and liaising with relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrable evidence of driving and improving change
- Leadership qualities
- Problem solving ability
- Excellent communication skills on all levels
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Eye for detail and a result driven approach
- Ability to work under pressure and to defined deadlines
- Relationship building including managing and leading teams
