Description

This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK’s fastest growing health companies and build the future of childhood obesity as a specialist GP. This excellent opportunity for a Doctor with special interest in Children’s Obesity is to work 5 hours per week.  This is a hybrid Role (a blend of home based and In person) and is located in Mansfield, working across Nottinghamshire and is to deliver face to face clinics and online appointments. About the role
This is one of the first Tier 3 Child weight management programmes that will be developed in the organisation and is a fantastic opportunity to grow, develop and lead their new Tier 3 Family Weight Management programme. They see patients from a range of backgrounds, clinical risks and complexities. As a Doctor you will:

  • Support the effective and tailored weight management plans for children and young people
  • Work with a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team to work towards lifelong healthy weight management  setting
  • Manage complex cases, contributing to Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, training of allied health professionals where needed, and there may be an opportunity to contribute to research and development.
  • This role of Doctor primarily focuses on supporting the management of patients with morbid obesity. 

About the responsibilities
This organisation is responsible for delivering a range of contracts relating to healthy lifestyle and behaviour change that include Tier 2 and Tier 3 weight management services, smoking cessation and a range of others that essentially aim to reduce health inequalities through community-driven services.  As a Doctor, you will:

  • Provide clinical oversight when needed for the Children and Young Peoples specialist weight-management service
  • Complete in-person medical reviews with support from a Paediatric Dietitian
  • Advise on care coordination and case management where needed
  • Assist the MDT to arrive at the best approach to help patients manage their weight

Training in the role will be provided, and is a great opportunity, particularly for portfolio GPs, to develop in a specialist area.

About the rewards
For the role of Doctor is for 5 hours per week and there is a salary on offer of £90,000 to £100,000 per annum, pro rata.

About you
To be successful for the role of Doctor, you will have / be:

  • MBChB or equivalent MRCGP
  • General practice knowledge
  • Good consultation skills, particularly in shared management plans
  • Work flexibly and adaptable to suit service needs
