We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Test / Development Engineer to join this leading provider of electronic design and assembly services in Widnes, Cheshire, working a four day week!

About the role
As a Senior Test / Development Engineer you will be responsible, in conjunction with the design team, for the development of new test procedures and the associated equipment along with general test and fault diagnosis of electronic systems across a wide range of customer products.  Duties will include:

• Technical supervision of test activities undertaken by technician staff
• Diagnosis and resolution of issues with products under test
• Maintenance and improvement of existing Test Rigs / Equipment / Programs
• Specification, development and construction of new Test Rigs / Test Equipment

About the rewards
In the role of Senior Test / Development Engineer you have the benefit of working a 4 day week, Monday to Thursday 7am to 5pm.  You will also receive:

• A salary of circa £35,000 per annum, depending upon experience
• 20 days holiday plus an extra day for each complete years’ service to a maximum of 24 days, plus paid bank holidays
• 5% employer and 4% employee pension scheme
• Free parking

About you
The role of Senior Test / Development Engineer would suit a “hands-on” engineer with a broad range of skills from mechanical and electronic construction, through to programming. You would ideally have / be:

• Educated to degree level in electronics or a related engineering discipline
• Previous demonstrable experience in a similar role or industry will be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications
• Strong general computer skills 
• A keen eye for detail and an aptitude for delivering ‘right first time’ results against challenging project timescales

Where necessary specific system level training will be provided.
