We have an excellent opportunity for a Support Worker to work join our clients friendly residential care team in South Croydon whose mission is to promote the care, welfare, interest, treatment and advancement of education of adults having cerebral palsy and other profound, multiple, acquired or other disabilities.
About the company
Our client is a residential home for 14 adults with physical disabilities and is close to many shops and services which the residents are able to use. It also caters for those with additional learning disabilities and sensory impairments and is registered with the London borough of Croydon under the Care Standards Act 2000. Their fundamental philosophy is to support and empower the residents to maximise their quality of life and to maintain and develop new skills.
About the role
In the role of Support Worker, you will be working with people with physical and/or learning disabilities and your responsibilities will include:- Assisting the client with personal care and activities of daily living
- Helping to increase the client’s independence and quality of life
- Take a lead role in helping the client generate social and recreational activities
- Assist with domestic duties and responsibilities directly associated with the client’s needs and requirements
- Provide excellent quality of care and support
- Help the client to maintain a well organised domestic environment
- Establish good working relationships with all involved
- Establish the trust of the client and the client’s family
About you
For the role of Support Worker, you must be / have:- Excellent social and communication skills
- Diplomatically work with the client’s family to ensure achievement of principal outcomes
- Full clean driving licence
- Show enthusiasm for client’s interests
- Good sense of humour
- Reliable and punctual
- Reliability and flexibility
- Friendly and talkative
About the hours and rewards
The role of Support Worker is a full-time role which includes shift work with sleep ins and you will receive £9.50 per hour plus benefits.
