We have an excellent opportunity for a Programme Manager within a charity that provides business support to young people in London by providing dedicated business coaches, workshops, one to one sessions, tailored business programmes, spaces to test trade from and business mentoring. Our client transforms young lives through enterprise by offering holistic and personalised business guidance and support to in-need marginalised young entrepreneurs across London, aged 16 to 30 through workshops, programmes and 1:1 business coaching. They work in collaboration with young people to enable them to start their own business or move into employment or/and education and training. They aim to develop approaches that empower, support and encourage young people to build confidence, follow their aspirations and fulfil their potential.
About the role
For the role of Programme Manager, our client is looking for someone who is passionate about creating exciting opportunities for young people, an experienced people manager and someone who is a confident relationship builder to be their Programme Manager.
The purpose of the role is to lead the delivery team to ensure charity aims, and objectives are met by overseeing the development and delivery of high-quality programmes for our current and future clients and providing line management support to the delivery team. The role will also:- Enable the development of programmes through building partnerships with a wide network of organisations, locally and nationally
- Establish and nurture relationships and deliver strategy that supports long term sustainability of this work
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure good financial management of our programmes and collaboratively with the leadership team to co-design the wider charity programme
About the responsibilities
In the role of Programme Manager duties include:- Managing staff through regular meetings, 1-1s and annual reviews
- Managing stakeholder relationships and working with the finance team to ensure robust financial planning in relation to our programmes
- Prepare and manage programmes budget
- Working with the operations team to ensure the organisation supports young people undertaking internships, work experience and work placements effectively
- Working closely with the marketing coordinator to ensure good storytelling around our programmes and projects
- Recruiting and managing a pool of volunteers to help deliver programmes
- Managing ongoing recruitment initiative engaging young people with our programme(s)
- Managing the development of programmes and ensuring its integration within the work of the charity and local community
- Ensure the timely delivery of all monitoring, evaluation and reports as required by funders and stakeholders or internally to the Community Impact Manager
- Contributing towards funding applications and identifying appropriate funding opportunities to ensure the sustainability of the programmes we use to deliver support
About you
To be successful for the role of Programme Manager, you will ideally have / be:- Minimum of 2 years programme management experience
- Demonstrable people management skills
- Experience of or an interest in using a variety of mediums (tech, media and digital) to engage with and support young people
- Experience of networking and building strategic relationships at the highest level with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners
- A track record of overseeing the planning, managing and evaluation of programmes for young people
- Experience of working with young people from a wide range of challenging backgrounds
About the hours & rewards
For the role of Programme Manager there is a salary on offer of £35,800 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include:- 25 days Annual Leave plus bank holidays
