A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Chief Executive Officer to join this superb youth counselling service in Winchester City Centre where you will spearhead their senior management team and extend their support to even more children and young people.
About the role
The responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer will include:
Leadership- Lead a dynamic team of staff, counsellors, supervisors, and volunteers
- Fostering an inclusive, innovative and supportive culture
- Ensure services effectively meet evolving youth needs and demonstrate impact
- Cultivate partnerships with funders, partners, service providers, and youth
- Advocate for youth mental health awareness and change as the voice of the organisation
Financial Management
- Manage financial resources, and demonstrate financial acumen for the charity's sustainability
- Develop transparent and accountable financial plans and budgets
- Steward resources responsibly, maximising impact on youth mental health through strategic investments
Resource Management
- Motivate a core team from varied backgrounds, fostering collaboration, inclusivity and professional growth
- Manage resources for efficient service delivery and organisational performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders, leveraging collective resources and expertise from youth mental health organisations
Fundraising
- Drive fundraising efforts for sustainable funding and diversified income
- Represent the organisation at events, nurturing donor and partner relationships
- Advocate for increased investment in youth mental health services
Governance
- Collaborate with the Team and Board of Trustees to set strategic direction and ensure accountability
- Provide accurate information and analysis for informed decision-making
- Uphold governance standards and regulatory compliance
- Promote transparency and stakeholder engagement in governance processes
About the rewards
In the role of Chief Executive Officer you will work 37 hours per week. There is a salary on offer of £55,000 per annum and benefits include:- 25 days per annum, plus Bank Holidays

Essential experience required
- A successful track record in senior management in a growing non-profit organisation, ideally within a mental health charity
- Understanding of small/mid-sized charity dynamics and youth mental health
- Strong financial acumen for funding, budgeting, and resource management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills based on evidence
- Presentation skills based on your own analysis
- Leadership during transitions and change
- Governance expertise and Board collaboration
- Experience in safeguarding and diversity issues
About the organisation
Our client offers counselling, therapy, and mental health support to young people aged 11-25 in Winchester, along with guidance for parents and families. Their youth led services include one to one counselling, walk and talk, and nature therapy sessions. Additionally, they run a youth drop-in service in Winchester City Centre and provide support to parents through consultations and workshops. With recent substantial funding, they're poised for growth and seek a leader to drive their vision of expanding our impact on local youth mental health.
