We have a superb opportunity for a Warehouse Coordinator within a Charity in Manchester which has a commitment to reducing food waste and food poverty. The organisations they support provide vital services alongside food services ranging from homeless shelters to food clubs and pantries, and from disability charities to school breakfast clubs, across just about every sector.

About the role
As Warehouse Coordinator you will play a key role in delivering our client's mission to reduce food waste, CO2 emissions and feed people by coordinating the safe operation of the warehouse. You will do this by effectively engaging a diverse team of staff and volunteers to ensure that all operational activities are completed to agreed schedules, and food safety and H&S standards are met. Responsibilities include:- Promoting positive morale and effective teamwork through a well-organised, calm and friendly working environment
- Line managing direct staff reports through objective setting, 121 meetings and coaching
- Overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse operations
- Optimising food redistribution and minimising the wasting of good food
- Optimising food storage in ambient, chilled and frozen areas and disposing of food waste
- Ensuring high quality services are consistently delivered to CFMs and other stakeholders
About the rewards
For the role of Warehouse Coordinator there is on offer a salary of £26,200 per annum.
You’ll be working 37.5 hours per week, 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, with one week in four working 12pm to 8pm Monday to Friday plus Saturday 10am to 3pm with a day off the following week.
Essential Experience- Working within a food distribution and/or warehousing operation
- Supervising people effectively including coaching, motivating and managing performance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently deal with people at all levels
- Good level of IT literacy, in particular Microsoft applications and ideally in house databases
- Good time management with the ability to manage workloads, set priorities and meet deadlines

About the company
The charity is a major food re-distributor in the area, fighting food poverty and hunger and tackling food waste. Using local and national food supplier partnerships, they source good quality food that is surplus to requirements from retailers and manufacturers. Over 100 volunteers are involved to help redistribute food provided to nearly 300 frontline organisations including school breakfast clubs, community centres and charities who offer frontline support to families and individuals in deprived areas including people who are homeless, unemployed, and socially isolated.
